The one where I talk about my fur babies

Over the past decade, animals have slowly become members of the family. In my opinion to some people they are like babies and they will be treated that way. In my hometown there is actually a place called "Bed n Biscuits". It's a place where you can leave your dog with them while you are on vacation and they will take care of it. I do consider my pets fur babies but I do not treat them like actual children. I do however love them like one of my own. The first fur baby I will talk about is Gibbles, the English Bulldog.

I have always wanted an English bulldog ever since I could remember. Every one in my family knew this and if they weren't $1,200 and up, I would have had one a lot sooner. I cheered with a girl who actually raised and sold these types of dogs so she was also on the lookout for me all the time. One night she texted me saying she had this puppy who was about to be put down because there was something wrong with his legs. She sent me this picture of a terrified puppy in a cage and I couldn't say no, neither could my parents. Since they were about to put him to sleep, Gibbles didn't cost me anything (until later). The picture above is that same night whenever I got him. It was taken after we had him for a few minutes, after all the (happy) tears dried. The problem with his legs was they were bowed more than normal and he couldn't take more than10 steps before he would fall down. Everyday we did our own type of therapy by taking walks and playing non stop. We took him to the vet a couple weeks later and they told me he wouldn't live past one because of his condition. When he got bigger, his legs never bothered him again. The only way you could tell there was a problem was his hips swung a lot when he walked, like he was always walking away with an attitude. We did become very familiar with car rides to the vet because these dogs have very sensitive skin. We had to get him on a special kind of dog food and special pills he took every week for his fur. I also had to give him baths regularly and wash between his face wrinkles or they would get infected. If you know anything about these dogs you know they aren't a big fan of the heat because of the sizes they can grow too. Gibbles was only 50 pounds but one day out in the heat for about 30 minutes was too much for him. When we started noticing signs of over heating, it was way too late. He passed away before we made it to the vet but he said with these types of dogs 10 minutes out in the heat would have done the trick. The love I had for this dog was like nothing I've ever experienced. It was a lot of work and I was broke all the time because of it but I wouldn't trade the memories for anything. Everyone in my family loved him and if you were willing to give him a belly rub, he would love you right back. My mom was usually the one to take care of him when I was away at college and she said she could carry on normal conversations with him and he would know what she was saying. He was the most lovable dog we have ever owned and to this day still wish he was here.

The picture below is a tattoo I have on my ankle to remember him by. It's his actual paw print and size.

I'll talk about the most recent pet that is in my life now, my male cat Remmi. I've had a cat before who would sleep in my bed and was considered to be "mine" but Remmi is different. Maddi's little sister feeds all the stray cats around their house and one of them had a litter of kittens. Remmi came out of that litter and when I brought him home, Tyson was very surprised. I've had him for about a month now and at night, he sleeps in our bed right next to me. When we leave and come back, he will meow until I hold him. He is definitely my cat and a spoiled little thing at that. Since I've had him such a short time, I don't really have much to say about him. I of course am already attached to him and excited to take him back to Pittsburg with me and continue this adventure on being a cat mom. Below are pictures of my handsome little boy.
